THE COLORADO TAG INTENSIVE PHILOSOPHY OF DISCIPLESHIP

These Seven Saint James distinctions are dynamics that describe TAG’s approach to discipleship:

WE PRESENT TRUTH IN A LIFE-GIVING WAY

Since Jesus is “the way, the truth and the life,” it is imperative that the way we explore and share truth is full of life.

WE AFFIRM THE CENTRALITY OF NEW TESTAMENT LOVE

The depths of God’s love is fully revealed in Jesus and it is in the giving of ourselves over to God’s love that we learn to love each other more deeply.

WE PRIORITIZE RELATIONSHIPS OVER PROGRAMS

Jesus said “the sabbath was made for people, not people for the sabbath.” Programs, procedures and rules function best when they serve people and not the other way around. Since relationships are the Holy Spirit’s highway we strive to be relationally present to one another because people last forever.

WE RESPOND TO SIN WITH REDEMPTION

We are convinced that God’s will for us is godly growth; especially when we stumble and fall. So we address sin with grace, truth, and love.

WE EXPRESS FAITH CONFIDENTLY

Since Jesus is the pioneer of faith we want what we say and do to proclaim our belief in an awesome God.

WE UNDERSTAND THAT LIFE IS A JOURNEY

The working out of God’s purposes in our lives is always a process. We desire to encourage one another and join each other on the path that God has marked out for us.

WE PRACTICE OUR FAITH RATIONALLY, ENERGIZED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT

Since science and faith often hold hands, we seek to engage our world both rationally and through the lens of Spirit-empowered faith.
